Rituals and Offerings: Pilgrims often visit the Bhairav Temple to seek the blessings of Lord Bhairav before proceeding to the Kedarnath Temple. Offerings and prayers are made to appease Bhairav, who is believed to be the guardian of the region.
Mythological Significance: According to mythology, after the great deluge that followed Lord Shiva’s Tandava (cosmic dance), the remains of Lord Shiva appeared at five different locations, including Kedarnath. Lord Bhairav is said to have guarded these sacred sites.
