Kedarnath Temple is located in the Indian state of Uttarakhand, in the Kedarnath district. It is situated in the Garhwal Himalayas, near the Mandakini River, at an elevation of approximately 3,583 meters (11,755 feet) above sea level.
Kedarnath Temple is one of the holiest Hindu temples dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is part of the Char Dham Yatra pilgrimage circuit in Uttarakhand, along with Badrinath, Gangotri, and Yamunotri.
The temple is known for its stunning mountainous surroundings and is accessible from the town of Gaurikund via a trekking route. It remains covered in snow during the winter months and is generally open to devotees from late April to early November each year. The temple’s unique architecture and spiritual significance attract thousands of pilgrims every year.
